Before he read his text, he yelled out, ‘A preacher with a message can start a revival in a grave yard!’” Inspired, Rev. C.M. Cole returns to Northeastern Missouri where churches had backslid into a graveyard state. This book covers the beginning of the backslidden era (1945) and speaks of instrumental people whom God used to prophesy in counties of Marion, Ralls, Monroe, Audrain, Randolph and Macon, Missouri.

Powerful. Engaging. Genuine.

C. M. Cole take the reader on a spiritual journey through the history of the Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) of Northeast Missouri and his personal calling that began in Los Angeles, California. The revelations, both personal and scriptural, shape an understanding of how the message of past unfolded and directional hope for the future. Written in the genuine voice of a dynamic speaker, knowledgeable teacher, and dedicated pastor, you will believe yourself in his presence.

An excellent book

It is a little weak in the beginning. That is because the author necessarily has to give the historical background and geographical setting for the account that he is going to be writing about. As a person from this area, a minister I assume, he hears a sermon while he is in California that changes his life and theology. It is a sermon based on the valley of dry bones, Ezekiel 37. The sermon part is super excellent. Every Christian leader should read it. It was a great blessing to me and restored my soul. I would give it five stars, but perhaps because of the weak beginning, it should only have a four. Anyway, it is an excellent book.

It is difficult to talk about history that is not romantic, or hard truths that expose reality in a way the inspires hope for the reader. We can only change our future if we understand the roots of our past and are willing to subit to wisdom. This book will surprise you, entertain you, teach you,instruct you, potentially rebuke you, and bring you to the solid determination that God can do anything if we yield our will to his.
