Amari Prokop murdered her first victim at age eight...
She acquired her own starship at twenty-four...
She started smuggling people from Earth to the freedom on Europa for a price, but found that blackmail and murder paid much better. All that wealth should have made her happy. But it didn't, nothing could fill that void she felt. She had to get out and start over.
Now on her last job, all she has to do was kidnap Cloee Thompson from a government transport ship and hold her until Amari's employer was ready to take her. The promise of a pardon from the United Nations was too good to pass up. It was the only way to leave that life behind.
Colin Ross was an Interplanetary Space Security Force (ISSF) agent, handpicked by the United Nations to recapture the mysterious terrorist Cloee Thompson and stop Amari, dead or alive. With his partner Marlie, they began the chase across the stars.
Can Amari escape Colin and the ISSF? Will she get her freedom? Who will steal Amari's heart? Why is Cloee Thompson so important? Who is pulling the strings and why?

From the Author
After two readers pointed out some errors in the original Amari, I pulled the book and had it reedited. The process was more extensive this time and I included a quality control reader at the end. This edition is free from those errors and I tightened up some of the dialogue. I want to thank Shane and Tallpaul13 for pointing out the discrepancies in the original test. Their comments helped to make this a better book.
I hope you enjoy this science fiction adventure story.

A good story filled with action!
By Devinder Dhiman
This science fiction is fast paced, having two main characters- Amari and Cloee, I liked the character of Cloee more than Amari. Amari is a pirate with soft heart but great skills of space-ship combat, whereas Cloee is a religious girl having tremendous computer hacking skills. Cloee is a prisoner of Amari, but her good nature causes Amari to befriend her and help her. The story is set in a background where people are also residing at Mars and Moon, space ships can travel at speeds nearly equal to speed of light, and people can get transported from one place to other by click of a button. Every chapter has scenes from different situations depicted simultaneously and they keep jumping from one scene to the other so fast that sometimes it becomes difficult to keep track of the happenings, and you get confused with the numerous characters. Overall as you keep progressing in the story, you keep getting involved with the main characters and enjoy the marvels of science imagined by the author and the twists of events of a political conspiracy and crime unsurpassed by any measures in the history of mankind. There are few errors in this book but they can be overlooked because the story is good.

Present day human conflict in a futuristic setting
By Craig Furchtenicht
Does history always repeat itself? I certainly hope not. The bleak dystopian future that Steven Atwood paints for us tends to suggest that all our past atrocities are just waiting to play themselves out again. The characters are well presented and easy to relate to, with common issues such as love, fear and betrayal. The story flows nicely and I found this book hard to put down. Admittedly, I have long grown tired of the same old cookie cutter sci-fi novels that I've tended to steer clear of the genre. Mr. Atwood's novel, Amari, has changed that for me. His work falls into a class of its own and has made me fall in love with sci-fi once again. I applaud him for that. This book will not disappoint.

Fun read!
By Bill
I must start by saying I really enjoyed this book. It was simple escapist fun featuring a future world with evil men fighting for power, pirates who end up as freedom fighters and a touch of romance, betrayal, religion and most other things!
The author gives us a view of the future, which though unlikely to occur, seems possible because we recognise various aspects of this dystopian future as having been a reality in the past. E.g. persecution of religion and people with mental or physical disabilities being sent to death camps by evil dictators.
You coud pick holes in some aspects of the plot and characterisation e.g. I thought Amari converted rather easily from blood thirsty pirate to hero but so what, it's an adventure story and you could pick similar holes in Star Wars and most Science Fiction because by nature it is dealing with an imaginary future. So suspend your disbelief and just enjoy this fast paced adventure. Cheer for the good guys and enjoy the bad guys getting what they deserve!
I really look forward to the next book in this series.
